![]() The units are not exactly balanced, but have most of their vanilla stats intact so you won't see much "gameplay" differences.I will just say that thevanillla rate of fire and killing power of the guns in this game will route a unit quite quickly. I have used the nosplatter mod to remove the screen blood splatter effect. I have used the noprojectiles mod to remove the unrealistic tracers behind cannon balls and bullets. ![]() I have added new musket and rifle sounds (Mostly from youtube recordings) I have modded in bayonets to all the units (thanks to kungfuserge guide post on totalwarcenter forums) The units are designed to be used in SP&MP Custom Battles and also AVATAR MP Battles. The AI teams designed to work in custom battles with the mod are the Satsuma (Union) and the Jozai (Confederacy) The BLANK WHITE ICON units which may be named Union infantry etc are not completed and shouldn't actually work in MP battles. The vanilla units which are now named after civil war era troops etc (such as confederate line infantry, guard infantry etc) are the ones which should be used in battles. All heads in the units are now "American" and not japanese. This includes a total redo of each units officers, standard bearers and troops. The main feature of this mod is a re-working of the vanilla Boshin War units so that they are renamed to American Civil War units and ALSO APPEAR SIMILAR TO THE UNIFORMS of the American civil war. NOTE: I have released this mod to the public in it's pre-alpha state so that people can enjoy a more Civil War-like visual experience on the battlefield instead of using boshin-war era looking japanese troops to fight American Civil War battles. WARNING: The mod is in pre-alpha state and I have not been able to edit unit voices or icons to make them appropriate yet for the Civil War era. (this is a part of the mod, disable the mod and they will revert to their normal japanese ones) The Avatar Generals are now using "Western" faces and equipment. I began work on this mod so that my brother and I could enjoy using our AVATAR MP armies in ACW battles but with the added feature of them wearing and appearing like the Americans of the Civil War. This mod is designed by myself using the CA game models and redesigning the Boshin-era troops to resemble civil war era uniforms and appearance. The American Civil War mod 0.1b Pre-Alpha All constructive feedback is greatly appreciated! If anyone is willing to assist me, now in the near future, please let me know at Thanks! The addition of custom models would greatly increase the variety of uniforms and equipment among the units in the game and lend to the historical authenticity of the mod. Any assistance with custom models or input in that area would be great as my modeling skills are not top notch. I also need assistance with putting in custom flags in the battle maps ( I mean the actual flag each regiment carries) So I believe the "Capture point" flag model and logic (roughly) from the MP side of the game would do as a basic starting point to actually have more "western" styled flags on the battlefield. If any friendly modders are (especially modelers) willing to help me out (now or in the future) I most importantly need assistance in finding how to assign specific voices (such as the american marine voices) to whichever units I desire in order to have actual american voices for the soldiers instead of japanese ones. The mod is still very much in it's early stages but I wanted to release a public alpha so people can have a look at the work so far and I can get feedback on certain aspects of the mod. For now I'm focusing on a total overhaul of the Avatar Multiplayer part of the game including uniform and skin overhauls for the actual general avatar plus all of the units. For Starters I'll post the Mod Description from The Steam Workshop and tomorrow will attend to a few more details on the mod. ![]() I am releasing an early alpha stage of my American Civil War mod (Total Conversion) for Shogun 2 & Fall of the Samurai. Hello all, I have been a Total war community member for years but have never been very active on the forums. ![]()
